Sports run deep in Green Bay, and Green Bay East High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Red Devils uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Green Bay East High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.
Harry Boyce – Overseas Pro Basketball Star & Youth Athlete Mentor
Harry Boyce was a standout at Green Bay East High School, averaging 20 points and 6 rebounds per game as a senior and earning all-state honors before playing collegiate ball at Williston State College. After a stint playing professionally overseas, Boyce turned his focus to community impact. He founded The Workshop, a training facility in Hobart, Wisconsin, where he now mentors the next generation of athletes through his team, Team 1848. Lakeria Gonnigan – Dedicated Three-Sport Standout
Lakeria Gonnigan, a current three-sport athlete at Green Bay East, is the emotional center of every team she’s on. From cross country in the fall to basketball in the winter and track in the spring, Gonnigan leads with unwavering presence and positivity. Mojmir Marek – Talented Midfielder With International Soccer Experience
Originally from the Czech Republic, Mojmir Marek brought his talents to Green Bay East High School with dreams of playing college soccer in the U.S. The 6'2" midfielder, known for his versatility and leadership, developed his game through international club experience before continuing his journey in the American soccer system. Jaida Reynen – All-Time Leading Scorer & Multi-Sport Athlete
Jaida Reynen made her mark at Green Bay East by becoming the school's all-time leading scorer in girls' basketball. A multi-sport athlete and captain in volleyball, basketball and softball, Reynen went on to play softball at Winona State, where she excelled both at the plate and in the circle. Tom Hearden – NFL Player & College Football Coach
Tom “Red” Hearden, a Green Bay East alum, played under legendary coach Knute Rockne at Notre Dame before suiting up in the NFL for Curly Lambeau’s Packers and George Halas’s Bears. After his playing days, he became a renowned coach in Wisconsin, leading St. Norbert College to a 40–14 record and helping the Packers staff before a stroke ended his career.
