3 Local Art Festivals Worth Going to Between May 6-13

Bay View Art in the Park, the 2nd Annual Art in The Green in the Milwaukee Domes and the 9th Annual Art at The Gardens are all coming up.

MILWAUKEE, WI – Three art festivals are coming to the Milwaukee County Parks in the next two weeks.

2nd Annual Art in The Green

Friends of The Domes will host the 2nd Annual Art in The Green, an indoor fine-art festival, May 6 and 7, featuring local and regional artists in The Domes Annex, 524 S. Layton Blvd.

Hours are Saturday, from 9 a.m.–5 p.m., and Sunday, from 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Selling their work at the juried event will be nearly 40 artists representing painting, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry, photography, glasswork, ceramics, fiber arts, stonework, and woodwork.Live entertainment will also be presented.

Admission for this fundraising event includes entrance to The Domes and Art in The Green, as well as parking. Admission is $5 per person age 4 and up. Children age 3 and under are admitted free. 9th Annual Art at The Gardens

Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens will present the 9th Annual Art at The Gardens, a free fine-craft event, May 7, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. at Boerner Botanical Gardens, 9400 W. Boerner Drive.

Twenty local artists were selected to sell their original work. Unique offerings include wearables, jewelry, photography, decorative and functional items for the home and garden, and other artwork. Artist booths will be inside the Education & Visitor Center and in the grass area in front of the building.

Admission to the Botanical Gardens, which includes admission to the Garden House and parking, is $5.50 for adults age 18 and up; $4.50 for students of any age with ID, Milwaukee County seniors age 60 and up with ID, and people with disabilities; and $3.50 for youths age 6-17. Bay View Art in the Park

Bay View Art in the Park, a free monthly fine-art and craft festival, will kick off May 13, from 11 a.m.–4 p.m., next to Milwaukee’s Craft Beer Garden at Humboldt Park, 3000 S. Howell Ave. Every second Saturday, from May to September, Art in the Park will bring a rotation of local artists to the park.

About 40 artists will be exhibiting at the opening event, and living-statue performer Alice Wilson will be striking poses. May’s event sponsor is Stephanie Bartz Photography. Bartz will be showing portraits of children and canines. Complementing the event will be music and food. Strolling violinist Ernest Brusubardis IV will perform from noon–2 p.m. Food and beverages (for adults and kids) will be available at the beer garden. For more information, visit bvartinthepark.com.
