I have seen and heard numerous atheist claim that atheism is not a religion. That it was becoming unburdened from an archaic system of beliefs that have been proven false multiple times over. Only those that wish to become chattel to a mythical god succumb to such a lifestyle. However, if atheism is the absence of a this belief system and not a religion, why is there so much evangelism done on their part.
In a recent article in the Washington Times, it draws attention to a TV line up dedicated to the Atheistic belief of Christmas. On the AtheistTV cable network, they will have their preachers bring the gospel of humanism to the ears of the nation. They will show why it is better to belief in the atheistic god (man) during the winter season over the myth of a real birth. I wonder if they will collect offerings?
Maybe it is time for the Atheist to step down from their intellectual high horse and realize their own faith has no greater relevance than the Christian one. Problem with that is, they might have to question their beliefs.
