Ballpark Commons To Add Beer Garden, 3-Story Indoor Golf Center

Developers have unveiled a year-round beer garden and 3-story indoor golf and entertainment center for Ballpark Commons.

FRANKLIN, WI β€” The developers of Ballpark Commons, a $125 million mixed-use development in northern Franklin anchored by a minor-league baseball stadium unveiled Wednesday plans for a three-level entertainment center centered around an indoor golf facility.

Developers say Luxe Golf Bays will be a massive, three-level entertainment center with 57 heated open-air bays overlooking approximately 215 yards of turf, served by two restaurants and a four-season beer garden called the Hinterhof. It’s set to open in Summer 2019.

Luxe Golf deploys Doppler radar ball tracking software and a robust gaming platform, allowing players in different bays and even in different facility locations to compete against one another and play famous courses.

Lux Golf Bays, the first of its kind in the Midwest, will provide an indoor setting for big and small groups who want to dine and enjoy a golf competition. Each bay is a fully furnished private suite complete with big screen TV, and is climate-controlled for year-round comfort.

β€œThis is golf meets technology and entertainment and dining,” said ROC Ventures CEO Mike Zimmerman. β€œYou definitely don’t have to be a golfer to enjoy Luxe Golf – it’s a tremendous way to bring people together, enjoy and share great food and beverages, and introduce the game to a new audience.”

Luxe Golf Bays will be served by two restaurants, each with a different concept, the developer says. Between the restaurants will be the Hinterhof beer garden, a year-round, open air gathering space.

β€œβ€™Hinterhof’ is German for β€˜backyard’,” Zimmerman said. β€œAnd that’s the atmosphere we’re after. The structure will have a retractable roof so it’s open to the sky as much as possible, and removable panels that create a controlled environment no matter what time of year it is.”

The $15 million facility will also feature a 2,500 to 3000 square-foot event space available for gatherings of all kinds.
