My sister-in-law is in her early 30’s and told me a while back that she wanted to learn how to knit. I had taught myself how to crochet, embroider, cross stitch, but had never knitted, so I signed up for a beginner’s class with her in Whitefish Bay.
I was surprised to see how young the other women were. There were 3 others and they were in their early 20’s. The instructor was in her mid twenties. She said she learned how to knit when she was 8 and has been making sweaters, socks, scarves and afghans ever since.
We brought our knitting to my brother’s house at Thanksgiving to practice, when my 25 year old niece brings hers out. She says she likes to knit just because, sometimes she doesn’t even make anything; she just enjoys knitting!

So, I’m wondering if they’re on to something. I’m a night time snacker, yes, I admit it. However! When I’m knitting for a few hours at night, not only is it relaxing, but it keeps my hands busy. Busy hands are happy hands! Knitting instead of snacking; works for me!
