Scott Walker: Are Private Sector Unions Still Your “Partner in Economic Development?”
Scott Walker and the opportunity to back up his statements about private sector unions.
"'From our standpoint, it's never going to get to me,' Walker said of right-to-work legislation in an interview with the Journal Sentinel on April 27. 'Private sector unions are my partner in economic development.'"
That’s from the May 10, 2012 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Walker also told the Journal Sentinel for a December 12, 2012 article that “it would hurt job growth in the state to have another round of bitter debate like the one that accompanied his mea sure in March 2011 to repeal most collective bargaining for most public workers, leading to the unsuccessful effort to recall him this year.”

Interesting words from a guy who introduced ALEC Right to Work legislation back in 1993. So we may certainly expect that the new legislation sponsored by state Republicans Paul Farrow and Ed Brooks (Senate Bill 26 and Assembly Bill 15) will be vetoed if/when it reaches Walker’s desk? Or shall we cynically assume that this will be signed because the word “union” doesn’t specifically appear, and therefore it literally isn’t about unions?
Perhaps the real question surrounds Walker's level of eagerness for a new round of protests around the State Capitol this spring. If this legislation gets to Walker’s desk and it's signed and protests occur, one has to wonder if every private union employee in the state is a Democrat and/or apathetic.
