'Dazed and Confused' Burglar Falls From 2nd Story Window

GREENDALE, WI — A Greendale man who was reportedly hallucinating fell out of a second story apartment window with the items he was trying to steal, police stated.

On the evening of Sep. 9, Greendale Police were dispatched to an apartment on the 6900 block of Crocus Court on a report of a burglary in progress.

According to police reports, Nathan Wieczorek, 29, broke into a 2-story apartment, only to fall out of the second-story window with the guitar and radio player he was trying to steal.

Upon arrival, police saw Wieczorek laying on the ground on the northeast side of the apartment complex. He was bleeding from his left hand and appeared to be extremely dazed and confused. There was a large amount of glass underneath him in addition to the radio player and guitar nearby, according to police.

Police submitted Wieczorek to a preliminary breath test, which revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.167, records show.

When the police officer who made the arrest looked up, he saw that the second-story window of an apartment was broken out - right above where Wieczorek landed, the criminal complaint stated.

When police inspected the apartment, they saw that the door had been kicked in, according to police. When police spoke with the owner of the apartment, the owner stated that he knew Wieczorek for a couple months and had hung out, only to have his new friend start acting weird over the past couple of weeks,the criminal complaint stated.

According to police, Wieczorek stated he preferred using heroin through an IV. He started to drink earlier that day and took ambien as well, because he was told that if he drank alcohol and took ambien, that he would be able to hallucinate. When asked what happened after he took the pills, he said he wanted to go and hang out with his friend, only to black out and wake up in the ambulance.
