Greendale High School students in Medical Interventions (MI), a Project Lead The Way class, demonstrate surgical techniques used during a kidney transplant surgery. The students put their suturing skills to the test by stitching together "blood vessels" (modeled as balloons.) As a part of a unit about organ transplants, students studied the process of a kidney transplant and determined how to attach a donor kidney to a recipient's blood supply. They then modeled that part of the surgical procedure.
