Greendale Band on the Run: 'Race to the Parade' Registrations Open
Local run will benefit the Greendale Marching Band's as they raise money to participate in Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

GREENDALE — The Greendale Marching Band is "marching" toward its fundraising goal, but a local run will help area students make several long strides toward their Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade performance.
Online registrations are now being accepted for the Greendale Marching Band’s “Race to the Parade,” a 10K/5K/Walk to benefit the band's once-in-a-lifetime trip to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York.

The Greendale High School Marching Band is one of just seven high school bands chosen to participate in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and was selected from 175 applicants from around the country.
The students will be representing the Village of Greendale, Milwaukee County, and the State of Wisconsin as the first Wisconsin high school band to march in the parade in since 2010.
Band continues working toward their fundraising goal:
To date, the Greendale Marching Band has raised $70,000 of its $100,000 fundraising goal through its work on various events, corporate sponsorships, and reaching out to GHS alumni.
