Greendale Class of 2018 Valedictorians, Scholars Set Record

Scholarship totals for the 2018 Greendale High School senior class reached a record of nearly $3.3 Million

GREENDALE, WI — Among the accolades afforded the Greendale High School class of 2018, the Class of 2018 has 236 students and has earned a $3,242,372 in scholarships. Greendale Schools has also announced its Greendale High School Valedictorians for the graduating Class of 2018.

Kelly Hanlon, Rose Irwin and Nicholas Schaefer, all with cumulative grade point averages of 4.0, will share in the distinction and be recognized at the commencement ceremony on Sunday, June 10, at 1:00 p.m., at Stephen J. Gavinski Stadium on the high school grounds.

Hanlon is the daughter of Michael and Lori Hanlon of Greendale. She will attend the University of
Wisconsin-Madison next fall. Irwin is the daughter of Ronald Irwin and Laurie Kovacic of Greendale and
will attend the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee next fall.

Schaefer is the son of Ann Binder-Schaefer of Greendale and Matt Schaefer of Caledonia. He will attend Marquette University for the 2017-2018 school year.

Greendale seniors Andrew Crapitto and Jessica Miller are named as National Merit Finalists by the
National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), the organization managing the national program
recognizing scholastically talented seniors.

Crapitto is the son of Joseph and Lynn Crapitto of Greendale. He will attend Oberlin College and Conservatory, Oberlin, Ohio, this fall. Miller is the daughter of Brian and Kathy Miller of Greendale. She will continue her education at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, this fall.
