Greendale: Declaration of Independence Reading Tradition Enters 10th Year
The Public is invited to read sections of the Declaration of Independence to kick off Independence Day 2016 festivities.

GREENDALE - There will be a public reading of the "Declaration of Independence" on Monday July 4, 2016 at 9:30 a.m., at the flagpole in front of the Greendale Village Hall, 6500 Northway, Greendale, Wisconsin.
This is the tenth year for this public reading, which started in 2007.
The public is invited to read sections of the Declaration of Independence. Volunteers will read a paragraph, (or part of a longer paragraph), in turn, and continue with the other volunteers assembled.

Other speakers/groups have also been invited. Organizers will assemble at 9:25 a.m. and determine the order of the readers. We should be done by 9:45 a.m.
The start time is 30 minutes later than last year. Organizers believe they will have a larger crowd closer to the start of the parade, which starts at 10:00 a.m.
