Greendale Education Foundation Presents 3rd annual 'Cheers to Education' Event

The culinary skills of Greendale High School's ProStart Culinary Arts Program students will be showcased at the event.

GREENDALE, WI -- The Greendale Education Foundation (GEF) will host its third annual Cheers to Education, a beer and wine tasting and food-pairing event on Friday, February 24, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Greendale Community Learning Center (Public Library Building), 5647 Broad Street in Greendale. Cheers to Education will be the Foundation’s largest fundraising event in 2017.

The informal event will include a variety of hot and cold food items and hors d’oeuvres paired with beer and wine. The culinary skills of Greendale High School’s ProStart Culinary Arts Program students will be showcased at the event. Greendale’s village restaurants will prepare additional food items.

Tickets are $35 each, and may be purchased at Greendale High School, Greendale Schools’ District Office, the Greendale Park & Rec Office, and online at www.greendalefoundation.org. A limited number of tickets are available for this event. Proceeds will benefit the Greendale Education Foundation’s work to support the students and staff of Greendale Schools.

The Greendale Education Foundation was established in 1998 to generate financial support to provide educational opportunities for students. Its efforts have resulted in funding more than $300,000 to various education initiatives in the school system. The Foundation has funded classroom technology, music, arts and theater programs, financial literacy programming, health and wellness projects, historic field trip opportunities, co-curricular activity seed money, and other projects that strengthen programs crucial to student education and development.

The Foundation’s KidBoosters Program was founded in the summer of 2012 in response to the increasing number of Greendale children and families living in difficult financial circumstances. It operates as a means to advocate on behalf of children and families who need assistance with basic necessities for success in school.
