Greendale Man Charged After Allegedly Choking Fiancee

Man shuts door on police when they show up at the house. He wasn't compliant with police until threaten with Taser.

A 36-year-old Greendale man is facing felony charges after he allegedly choked his fiancée while having an argument in their home.

According to the criminal complaint, the man, who isn’t being named by Patch in order to protect the identity of the victim, was drunk and arguing with his fiancée inside their home in the 5400 block of Middleton Drive when he told her to leave the house. The woman instead locked herself in a bedroom, so the suspect picked the lock, went inside and began to choke her.

His son yelled at him to stop, but the man continued to hold onto the woman’s neck until she tossed her cell phone to the son, who ran outside to call police. The suspect ran after his son, but came back soon after he left and began to choke the victim again.

When police arrived, he shut the door on officers, who then forced their way into the home due to the nature of the call. The suspect was sitting on a couch and refused to let officers handcuff him until they said he would be stunned with a Taser if he didn’t comply.

The suspect is charged with one count of disorderly conduct domestic abuse, one count of strangulation and suffocation, and one count of obstructing an officer. He’s currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail on $500 bond while awaiting trial.
