Greendale Marching Band to host Macy Thanksgiving Parade Preview Event
The Greendale Marching Band will perform a free Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Community Appreciation event on Saturday, November 19.

GREENDALE -- The 12-time state champion Greendale High School Marching Band will perform a free Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Community Appreciation event on Saturday, November 19, at 12 noon in Stephen J. Gavinski Stadium on the Greendale High School campus, 6801 Southway, Greendale.
The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. This is the 270-member band’s final tune-up before marching in the 90th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City on Thursday, November 24.
“The students are eager to show the community how much their support has been appreciated throughout the past 16 months.” said Tom Reifenberg, Greendale High School Director of Bands. “The band and its families are very grateful for the tremendous community support that ensured we are able to take every student in the group to New York for this amazing experience.”

The Greendale High School Marching Band is one of just seven high school bands chosen to participate in the prestigious event and was selected from 175 applicants from around the country.
The students will be representing the Village of Greendale, Milwaukee County, and the State of Wisconsin as the first Wisconsin high school band to march in the parade in since 2010.

The 90th Anniversary Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade airs nationwide on NBC-TV, from 9 a.m. to noon in all time zones on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016.
