Greendale Police: Prowling, Paintball and Train Heist

The Greendale Police Department responded to a variety of calls this past week, including a prowling incident, an errant paintball and theft of money from the Southridge train.

Prowling: A 54-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for prowling after a caller reported seeing the man go through a pick-up truck parked in a lot in the 6100 block of Highland Lane Oct. 19 at 9:24 p.m. Nothing was taken from the vehicle and there was no damage.

Paintball: A 19-year-old West Allis man was cited for verbal obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct following a call from a Greendale resident that her car had been hit with a paintball on West Loomis Road and the Root River Parkway Oct. 20 at 10:50 p.m.

Train heist: Theft of cash from the bank deposit bag for the train at Southridge Mall was reported Oct. 23 at 10:25 a.m. An employee’s purse was also stolen. The thefts were believed to have occurred overnight.

OWI: A 49-year-old Greenfield man was cited for operating while intoxicated 11:44 p.m. Oct. 22 at West Grange Avenue and 60^th Street.

Retail thefts

One man was arrested for retail theft Oct. 23 at 4:46 p.m. at Southridge Mall.

A 49-year-old Chicago man was arrested for identity theft, forgery and obstructing officers following a call from Macy’s regarding credit fraud Oct. 24 at 4:09 p.m.

Two men were cited for retail theft at JC Penney’s Oct. 24 at 8:58 p.m.

Two juvenile females were arrested at Kohl’s for retail theft Oct. 20 at 8:13 p.m. The girls were arrested for state retail charges and released to their parents.

In incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is only an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
