Established in 2012, Greendale’s district garden serves multiple purposes. During the school year, it is an outdoor classroom and the location for science experiments, art classes, English classes and other learning opportunities.

The Greendale High School Garden Club tends to the crops, which are sold at
the Downtown Markets in the Village of Greendale on Saturdays during the summer.

Garden produce is prepared and frozen by the Greendale School District food service team for use in the students' lunches during the year. Salad fixings and other produce is served fresh in lunches.

In 2016, over 900 pounds of produce was harvested.
