Greendale Transforming Into 'Dickens Village'

Organizers say that more than 100,000 twinkling lights will shine, and merchants will be dressed in Dickens-era costumes.

GREENDALE, WI -- The holidays just got a lot brighter as Greendale transforms from a time-honored village center into a modern version of a Dickensian-era Christmas village.

Organizers say that more than 100,000 twinkling lights will shine, and merchants will be dressed in Dickens-era costumes. Visitors will be able to reminisce to holiday entertainment by strolling carolers, bell and chamber choirs, and string instruments.

In addition, there will be"A Christmas Carol" skit, a chance for children to take photos with Santa. There will also be sleigh hay rides, horse wagon rides, food and beverages.

The Dickens of a Village will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 30.
