Kohl Foundation Honors 2 Greendale Teachers out of 100 Statewide Honored
Two Greendale teachers were honored out of 100 statewide teachers by the Kohl Foundation for their innovations in the classroom.

GREENDALE, WI — Two Greendale school teachers were recognized by the Herb Kohl Foundation for innovation in the classroom at a luncheon at Greendale High School on April 8.
The Kohl Teacher Fellowship program recognizes and supports teaching excellence and innovation in the State of Wisconsin. Annually, the Foundation awards 100 Wisconsin teachers this honor.
Theresa Kruschke-Alfonso is a Spanish teacher at Greendale High School who teaches a variety of Spanish language courses, from Spanish 1 to AP Spanish/Spanish 5, where students are able to earn college credit from UW-Oshkosh through the CAPP Program and her certification as an Adjunct Professor at that university. She established the Greendale Chapter of the Spanish National Honor Society to recognize students’ dedication and excellence in Spanish.

Holly Miller has been a part of the Greendale Middle School team since 2009. She teaches 6th and 7th Grade Healthy Choices classes, 8th Grade Health class and acts as the faculty advisor for two Greendale Schools’ clubs, FACT (the District's Youth Tobacco Prevention Program) and Teens With Impact, an organization designed to promote healthy lifestyle choices among teens. Her work in both aspects of her role help to create opportunities for student leadership among both middle and high school students.
The Kohl Foundation Fellowship program was established by Herb Kohl, philanthropist and businessman, in 1990. To date the foundation has awarded $11.5 million to Wisconsin educators, principals, students, and schools.
