Milwaukee Art Museum Hosts Kohl's Art Generation Family Sundays: The Sound of Color
On Sunday, July 20th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Milwaukee Art Museum welcomes the public to get inspired at Kohl's Art Generation Family Sundays: The Sound of Color.
Families
can learn about the master of modern art, Wassily Kandinksy, through
hands-on, engaging art projects inspired by the Museum's special
exhibition, Kandinsky: A Retrospective. Children can get their
creative juices flowing just like Kandinksy by sketching to music,
composing with color and painting the landscape from the Museum's
windows. Kids can even share their artistic views with others by
contributing to a giant group painting. Special guest Barb Rosenstock,
award winning author of The Noisy Box, will also be in attendance from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. to sign copies of her book.
While
at the Museum, kids and families can also stop into the Kohl's
Education Center - a fun, interactive space designed to give kids an
appreciation for art through participation in exciting, creative,
hands-on projects. Part of the Kohl's Art Generation program, this space
is made possible through a $6.4 million commitment from Kohl's Cares to
the Milwaukee Art Museum.
