Greendale is 75 years old. One of a series of planned "greenbelt" communities. The Roosevelt administration, spearheaded by Eleanor Roosevelt and Harry Hopkins, planned to have at least one in each state. Three were started before WWII dried up the funding. Only Greendale survives as it was designed.
