Sears to Close Southridge Store

GREENDALE, WI — Sears has announced that they are closing their store at Southridge Mall in Greendale.

According to media reports, the Sears department store will close in mid-September. The Auto Center will close by mid-July. They will begin their liquidation sale on June 30.

In a statement in January 2017, company officials announced the closing of Sears stores across the U.S. "The decision to close stores is a difficult but necessary step as we take actions to strengthen the Company’s operations and fund its transformation. Many of these stores have struggled with their financial performance for years and we have kept them open to maintain local jobs and in the hopes that they would turn around."
