GREENDALE, WI — Greendale is embarking on a multi-million dollar redevelopment of the former Sears store at Southridge Mall, which will consist of multiple tenant spaces, a new Dick’s Sporting Goods Store, and a Round 1 Bowling and Amusement Complex.
In 2017 village officials learned that Sears was closing hundreds of stores across the U.S., and learned that the Southridge Sears was one on the chopping block. Village officials say they've held numerous meetings to discuss how to redevelop the old Sears site, culminating in today's announcement.
Village officials say that Dick’s Sporting Goods will occupy 66,000 square feet the lower level of the building. Round 1 Bowling and Amusement Complex will occupy 45,000 square feet of the upper level of the building.

Greendale officials say the project will be subjected to a public review process, including review of the use of Tax Incremental Financing dollars, which could encompass the portion of the former Sears store site located in the Village.
Further redevelopment is planned for the portion of the former Sears store site located in the City of Greenfield.
