Village Enacts New Parade Spectator Rules
Effective immediately, village officials said that no chairs or blankets may be placed earlier than 7:00 pm the evening before any parade.

GREENDALE, WI — At the July 17th Village Board meeting the Board adopted a new ordinance regulating setup for viewing of parades.
Village officials said that they learned after the 2018 Fourth of July parade, there were safety concerns regarding the types of items that were used to reserve a spot and how early those items were placed.
Officials said that stakes that were pounded into the ground were considered a safety hazard for pedestrians, and the areas had not been flagged for utility lines. There was also concern regarding items potentially blowing into the streets and other properties in case of inclement weather.
