FRANKLIN, WI — A Milwaukee-area fixture for more than 40 years, Wheel & Sprocket, Wisconsin’s largest bike store, announced it's moving to the up-and-coming Franklin Ballpark Commons development.

Wheel and Sprocket becomes the first store to state they are moving to the planned development, company officials said. They plan to occupy the first floor and lower level of a three-story office and
retail building in the Northside section of the development, and have agreed to lease 20,150 square feet of space.

Kegel said the move from Hales Corners to Franklin reflects the rapidly-changing retail landscape, which has seen notable developments such as 84South in Greenfield, Drexel Town Square in Oak Creek, and now Ballpark Commons in Franklin.

Ballpark Commons, is a planned mixed-use development that will feature a 4,000-seat baseball stadium, spaces for commercial and retail businesses, restaurants, apartments, and other businesses. Construction is expected to begin later in 2018, organizers said. The development is planned for a northern part of Franklin that borders Greendale.
