Why Western Foreign Policy Fails

With the rise of progressive thought and its adherence to the concept of subjective morality, one of the by-products is an inability to conduct foreign policy from a leadership position. Many have spoken about POTUS and his questionable positions on foreign matters. The pundit’s opinions range from uncaring to ineptitude. However, when you analyze his actions against the progressive morality he was educated under, the solution might be simply that he can’t make a decision he feels is moral.

We have three great foreign policy dilemmas that currently afflict our nation. The first is the near invasion we are facing on the southern border. Where illegal immigrants flow across the border into portions of our country willing to lavish them with endless government subsidies. The second is the ISIS crisis in the Middle East. Here a religion of hate is threatening to take over the region. Third, the aggressive Russian expansion into the Ukraine. Using tactics that are reminiscent of the USSR.

As the leader of the US, you must take a moral stand on these issues. The predicament faced by the current administration is that their vision of morality contains no basis for immorality aside from personal preference. As result, claiming that foreign powers have exceeded their authority by acting in ways that run contrary to traditional standards of morality, is oppression and immoral in the eyes of today’s progressive. We may feel uncomfortable watching the decapitation of a journalist, military aggression in Eastern Europe, or an open border policy that could cripple our country; but that hooded man, dictator or illegal immigrant was acting in accordance with his/her own morality.

Who is Obama to deny the rights of non US Citizen Latin Americans access to US government subsidies? Who is Obama to claim that Islam has no right to kill Americans and Christians within its own borders? Who is Obama to demand that Putin live by a moral code other than his own? See the conflict? How does Obama justify the authority of his own morality?

The administration gives speeches and sound bytes about opening a dialogue, attempts to bring peace through a conversations and drawing lines in the sand. Yet, peace never comes because the conversations have no weight or authority. Instead the President watches as the world burns afraid to judge another’s actions because his progressive upbringing has taught him that passing judgement is immoral.
