141 Drivers Cited In Construction Zones, Including I-94

Authorities in Milwaukee County say that despite repeated warnings to drive safely in construction zones, drivers aren't slowing down.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Authorities in Milwaukee County say that despite repeated warnings to drive safely in construction zones - including I-94, deputies issued 146 citations to motorists between Friday, Sept. 6 and Monday, Sept. 9.

On Friday, 41 citations were issued, on Saturday, 51 on Sunday, 49 and on Monday, 5 citations were issued for a variety of traffic and road violations, sheriff's officials said.

Three motorists were cited for driving 34 miles per hour over the speed limit. The highest fine was $456, for a person who drove 84 miles per hour in a 50-mile-per-hour construction zone.
