17-Year-Old Mom With Infant Rams Greenfield Squad Car
The 17-year-old mother of a 10-month-old child - with the child unrestrained in the car - fled police and rammed a Greenfield squad car.

GREENFIELD, WI — The 17-year-old mother of a 10-month-old child - with the child unrestrained in the car - fled police in a high-speed chase and rammed a Greenfield police squad car to avoid arrest.
The maneuver didn't work out for mom.
On July 7, 2017 just before 1 a.m., A Greenfield police officer was on patrol in his marked squad car when he observed a 2003 Pontiac traveling northbound on 27th Street with expired registration.

The vehicle was also deviating from its lane and traveling in two lanes. The officer activated his emergency lights at 5900 Block of South 27th Street, however the driver, later identified as Brintany Harris did not stop and turned eastbound on Grange Avenue. The vehicle continued by turning onto South 26th Street, and at this point, began accelerating away from the squad, police said.
The vehicle accelerated quickly as it reached a dead end where 26th Street ends at the Steins Parking lot 5400 Block of South 27th The vehicle continued into the parking lot until it became blocked by store merchandise, according to her criminal complaint.

At this point, the Greenfield officer positioned his squad directly behind Harris' Pontiac. The Pontiac then quickly reversed and rammed the front of the officer's squad. At that point,the officer exited his squad and pointed his firearm at Harris who then stopped the vehicle, police said.
Harris was removed from the vehicle. A passenger was located in the vehicle. The passenger was holding an unrestrained child, the Harris' ten month old child, according to her criminal complaint.
Harris admitted to seeing the police car with its lights behind it. The defendant stated that she attempted to flee because she was scared of the police and after looking at her child feared going to jail because she had warrants, police said.
Harris has been charged with 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and fleeing an officer. She had been held in the Milwaukee County Jail on a $5,000 signature bond, but has since been turned over to Justice Point for supervision.
