Police say they attempted a traffic stop on the Caravan driven by Bonaccorso in Greenfield on S. 27th St. after an officer saw he had no headlights on just after 2 a.m.

Instead of stopping, police say Bonaccorso sped up to 87 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone as he fled police - at one point turning into oncoming traffic before entering the parking lot for Anticipation night club.

A passenger left the Caravan in the parking lot before speeding off the wrong way on 27th St. and driving down the sidewalk for two blocks. Bonaccorso fled into Cudahy where the pursuit was picked up by local police, the criminal complaint stated.

By that time, police saw that the Caravan was smoking from the engine. Bonaccorso accelerated west on College, reaching 100 miles per hour before turning west onto Granada St. From Granada, he turned into 15th place and stopped at the dead end, according to police.

Two female passengers fled on foot, but police took Bonaccorso, the driver, into custody, according to police.

Bonaccorso has been arrested and charged with burglary, taking a vehicle without the owner's consent, 2nd-degree recklessly endangering safety and fleeing an officer. He is being held in the Milwaukee County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.

When police asked Bonnaccorso why he fled police, he reportedly stated that he fled because one of the passengers told him she had a warrant.
