2019 Greenfield Memorial Day: Vietnam Moving Wall, Ceremony
The Moving Wall travels around the U.S. to give veterans who are unable to visit the memorial in Washington D.C.

GREENFIELD, WI — The Moving Wall, a half-size replica of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. is coming to Greenfield over the 2019 Memorial Day weekend, giving friends and families of those who lost a loved one during the Vietnam War the chance to pay their respects.
The Moving Wall is welcomed to Greenfield on Thursday, May 23 with a police escort, and will be open to the public later that day.
The weekend, which also includes the ever-popular Dan Jansen Family Fest, features an opening ceremony on Friday, and a special fireworks display on Saturday.

Police Motorcycle Escort of the Moving Wall, starting at 124th Street and Layton Ave. The Moving Wall and police escort will arrive at Konkel Park, 5151 W. Layton Ave. at 9 a.m. Ideal spot for viewing: Greenfield High School area will feature ROTC cadets creating a Corridor on Layton Avenue for the moving wall and motorcycle escort.
2 p.m.
The Moving Wall opens to the public at Konkel Park, 5151 W. Layton Ave., and remains open 24/7 through 4 p.m. on Monday, May 27.
Friday, May 24
9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Veteran Service Organizations booths open to all veterans at Konkel Park.
1 p.m.
Opening Ceremony for the Moving Wall, featuring Vietnam Veterans and ROTC cadets from Greenfield High School, and City of Greenfield Proclamation by Mayor Mike Neitzke.
The Moving Wall opens to the public, and remains open 24/7 through 4 p.m. on Monday, May 27 at Konkel Park.
Saturday, May 25

Fireworks at Konkel Park.

Closing Ceremony featuring Brigadier General Ernest Latynski, U.S. Army Reserve. The Moving Wall remains open through 4 p.m. at Konkel Park.
