Alverno College student Naly Vang, a nursing major from Milwaukee, has been selected to receive a CIC/UPS Scholarship provided by the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) and its national partner, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) in Washington, DC.

Nationally, CIC, through the CIC/UPS Educational Endowment, provided more than $1.6 million in student scholarships to support student success at private colleges and universities. This year, the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) awarded $63,000 in CIC/UPS Scholarships to 21 low-income, first generation, minority, and new American students at private institutions across Wisconsin.

“Increasing our postsecondary education attainment rate is a top priority in Wisconsin, and we know that student aid is critically important to achieving this goal,” said Dr. Rolf Wegenke, WAICU president. “We are grateful to the CIC and UPS for their partnership in supporting our students’ success.”
