Alverno College Will Hold Its 159th Commencement on May 18

In all, 245 students will receive their degrees

Alverno College will hold its 159th commencement on May 18 as 158 bachelor’s and associate students, 86 master’s candidates and one doctoral candidate walk across the Pitman Theatre stage to receive their degrees. The graduate ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception. The undergraduate ceremony will take place at 2:00 p.m., and will also be followed by a reception.

Commencement activities for undergraduates will begin on Friday, May 17 with a Baccalaureate Mass at 4:00 p.m. in the Alverno College chapel, followed by a cocktail party for degree candidates and their families. The undergraduate commencement introduction will be given by Jennifer Fierro-Padilla, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. The undergraduate invocation will be given by Karen Marie Romantini, who will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Studies with a minor in Art. The student address, “Through Generations - It's In Our Blood,” will be given by Sarah Goodle, who will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing with a minor in Spanish Language and Cultures. The graduate commencement invocation will be given by Sharais Alvarado, who will receive a Master of Science in Community Psychology. Alvarado, Fierro-Padilla and Romantini are Milwaukee residents, and Goodle lives in Oak Creek.
