Alverno College's Laeren Yates has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for events of Sept. 30-Oct. 6, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Yates (Green Bay, Wis./West) capped off the season with her third-consecutive singles win -- a 6-0, 6-2 straight-sets victory at Mount Mary on Thursday. The rookie also teamed up with partner Jordanna Farkas for an 8-4 win in the number-1 doubles match, the duo's second-straight win.
This award marks the first time in the tennis program's five-year history an Inferno player has been honored with a weekly conference accolade.

Yates completed the 2013 season with a 9-6 singles record.
