New Berlin KinderCare Teacher Surprised with Early Childhood Educator Award and $10,000 Check from Knowledge Universe
Linda Fadden, a preschool teacher at New Berlin KinderCare Learning Center in New Berlin, Wis., was honored with an Early Childhood Educator Award from Knowledge Universe® - United States, the nation’s leading provider of early childhood education and care. Nominated and selected for this award without her knowledge, Linda was surprised on October 4 with the award and a $10,000 check in front of children, parents, and colleagues who value her teaching abilities.
During morning story time, New Berlin KinderCare Center Director April Bolan asked Linda to join her as she read a new book to the children. As the story unfolded, it soon became apparent to Linda that the book was about her and the surprise award she was receiving. As the final page was turned and the winning name revealed, cheers and applause erupted from the children, parents, center staff and her family members who were gathered in the classroom.
Linda received accolades for creating a strong bond between her and her students, as well as mutual care and respect. In addition, she inspires a passion for learning by clearly demonstrating her own excitement when the children accomplish a new task. Linda was praised for her calm demeanor and ability to engage the children in conversation to help guide them in finding solutions to challenges. She is also highly regarded by her peers – serving as both a mentor and a resource for other teachers.
