BBB Partners with Marquette University to Offer Free Cybersecurity Events

The Better Business Bureau Serving Wisconsin (BBB) is happy to announce that it will be partnering with Marquette University to offer several upcoming, free cybersecurity events.

This partnership is designed to engage and educate the public and private sector and provide them with tools and resources needed to stay safe online.

These events will be held at Marquette University and will take place in October, to commemorate National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), an annual campaign to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity. Click below to register for the events.

“We are excited to team up with Marquette University to offer these free seminars for a common goal – protection through education,” says Jim Temmer, BBB CEO and President. “We want individuals and businesses of all sizes to take action toward protecting themselves from cyber threats and attacks, and the first step in prevention is awareness.”

“The cyber world is more treacherous than many small businesses believe,” said Thomas Kaczmarek, director of Marquette’s Center for Cyber Security Awareness and Cyber Defense. “We have developed a workshop exercise to teach smaller organizations about the threats and help them start to use a cyber security framework to protect and prepare.”
