Big Inning Dooms Falcons Late
A six-run frame costs Whitnall a win against Wauwatosa West on Tuesday.

If the Whitnall baseball team wants to build momentum heading into the WIAA postseason, it will have to quickly find a way to avoid big innings.
The Falcons were unable to do so at Wauwatosa West on Tuesday in a 6-2 loss that dropped their record to 15-12 overall and 9-7 in the Woodland Conference. It was Whitnall's third straight loss.
Whitnall scored twice in the third inning on RBI singles by Sam Mentkowski and Brent Sluka to snap a scoreless tie, but the Trojans scored six times in the sixth off Whitnall starting pitcher Nathan Dupont.
