AURORA, Ill. -- Alverno College tied a season-low with just 13 kills in a 3-0 loss at Aurora University Tuesday night in Thornton Gymnasium.
The Inferno (3-19, 0-9 Northern Athletics Conference) had its match-best six kills in the first set, but also committed a match-high nine attack errors, which led to a 25-12 defeat.
The host Spartans (9-16, 5-5 NAC) posted a match-high 13 kills in the second frame, compared to the Inferno's three, and won the set 25-13.

In the third, the Spartans didn't hold back and pulled out the sweep with a 25-12 final-set win.
Aurora tallied 34 kills on 89 attempts for a .247 attack percentage, while Alverno finished the match for a season-low -.120.

Daryl SighΒ led the Inferno offense with five kills, whileΒ Reagan OwenΒ had 12 digs andMariah AterberryΒ had three blocks to lead the defense.
Alverno is next in action on Friday at NAC-leader Edgewood College at 7 p.m.
