Bucs Blank Inferno, 4-0

The Beloit College Buccaneers netted two goals in each period and shut out the visiting Alverno College Inferno, 4-0, this afternoon in nonconference action at Strong Stadium.

BELOIT, Wis. -- The Beloit College Buccaneers netted two goals in each period and shut out the visiting Alverno College Inferno, 4-0, this afternoon in nonconference action at Strong Stadium.

The Inferno (3-8) were limited to just one shot on goal, as Nava Moniriarani's try was saved by the Bucs' goalkeeper in the 39th minute.

Erin Chambers scored the first goal for Beloit (6-4-1) in the game's sixth minute and Emily Ebner added one in the 30th for the 2-0 halftime lead. Chambers added two more scores in the 70th and 86th minutes for the hat trick.

The Inferno's Samantha Robinson faced 14 shots and recorded six saves in all 90 minutes at goal.

Alverno returns to action on Saturday against host MSOE as the teams battle for the Red Rivalry Cup. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at Hart Park in Wauwatosa.
