Extreme Winter Sports Club at Whitnall High School
The snowboarding club at Whitnall High School begins soon.

Students at Whitnall High School will begin the second season of the extreme winter sports club of snowboarding starting Dec. 6.
The students gather at Alpine Valley Resort six times during the winter. This is not a sport you compete in; instead, it's for recreation.
Mrs. Pluess, a history teacher at Whitnall High School is the advisor for this club. The snowboarding offers any level so it can be for beginners or expierenced. Although the Whitnall Students travel six times as a group to Alpine, you can use the club card given to you at any time at the resort for a discount.

I asked Whitnall High School student Tyler Quinn about his expierence at the club last year.
"I had a lot of fun hanging with friends and improving my skills at snowboarding," he said.

I also asked Mrs.Pluess about her hopes of this year.
"Im hoping for more snow this year and less melting so we don't have to snowboard on ice," she said.
The cost for this club is $45 for signing up, and each Alpine lift ticket is $15 (half price). You can also rent snowboards for half price. I really feel this club is a good way to bring kids to do an activity together that they enjoy.
