The Alverno College women's tennis team didn't get off to the start it wanted to, to begin the 2012 season.

AURORA, Ill. -- The Alverno College women's tennis team didn't get off to the start it wanted to, to begin the 2012 season.

The Inferno lost a pair of road duals to Aurora University, 8-1, and Benedictine University, 9-0, Saturday in Aurora, Ill., to drop to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in Northern Athletics Conference play on the young season.

The Inferno's lone match victory was their first of the day as seniors Tricia Goska (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Lincoln) and Abigail Kohal (Wauwatosa, Wis./West) defeated their Spartan opponents in the No. 1 doubles match, 8-5.

Against Benedictine, Goska again started with a first-set win in the No. 1 singles match, but fell 6-4 and 10-8 in the final two sets.
