Inferno Falls To Crusaders, 6-2

WATERTOWN, Wis. -- Host Maranatha Baptist scored three goals in the opening 26 minutes of play and held on for the 6-2 victory over visiting Alverno College on Saturday afternoon.

Nava Moniriarani (Oak Creek, Wis.) put the Inferno (2-3, 0-3 Northern Athletics Conference) on the board with a goal in the 43rd minute for a 3-1 halftime score.

But the Crusaders (3-3, 1-2 NAC) went back up by three with a goal in the 61st minute, before Moniriarani netted her second goal of the game -- and fifth of the season -- just over 10 minutes later to cut the lead back to two.

Alverno wasn't able to get the offense going again, and Maranatha tacked on two more goals in the final 8 minutes for the 6-2 final score.

Alverno returns to Milwaukee for a home nonconference game against Buena Vista University on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
