Inferno Shut Out Against Crosstown Rival

The visiting Alverno College Inferno lost to the host Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon at Hart Park.

WAUWATOSA, Wis. -- The visiting Alverno College Inferno lost to the host Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon at Hart Park.

The Raiders (7-6-1, 4-4 Northern Athletics Conference) had a 12-3 shots on goal advantage in the contest, scored a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes of the game, then added three more in the second half.

Nava Moniriarani fired off two of the Inferno's shots and Brittany Carpenter had the other, but neither got by the Raiders' goalkeeper.

Samantha Robinson tallied seven saves for Alverno.

With the loss the Inferno (3-9, 0-7 NAC) allowed the Raiders to keep the Red Rivalry Cup for another season.

Alverno returns to action on Tuesday as it hosts first-place Aurora University at 3 p.m.
