MILWAUKEE -- After holding its opponents to under 30 percent shooting on Saturday, Alverno College's defense could not stop the hot-shooting Maranatha Baptist Bible College Crusaders on Tuesday night as the visitors ran away with a 68-50 result.

Alverno (2-2, 1-1 NAC), which led 30-28 at halftime, went ice cold in the second half as the team shot just 24 percent (7-of-29) from the field and 0-of-6 from 3-point range. Additionally, Alverno was just 6-of-11 from the free-throw line after a perfect 4-of-4 performance in the first half.
