Last Call for all Green Tomatoes

Quick tip on removing bugs from your tomatoes.

As we are moving quite quickly into fall this week, with tempteratures in some parts of the state hitting the freezing mark. You may still have a few tomatoes on the vine. But, alas, something has moved into your tomatoes. 
You want to save the last flavors of summer.

You will not want to bring these into the house, until the bugs are removed. 
Easiest way to remove these small insects in to fill a mixing bowl 3/4 full with cool water and float your tomatoes for 1/2 hour. Then, remove the tomatoes and discard the water. Your tomatoes are now bug free and you can bring your tomatoes into the house.

If you quiver at the sight of these, you can also just cut the bad parts off and still have a viable tomato. If it has not fully ripened. Either make fried green tomatoes or green tomato salsa. The recipe is listed below.
