MARC Pet of the Week: Penny
Today is Giving Tuesday! Can you spare a dollar for Penny?

Start the giving season off right - today is Giving Tuesday, and Penny needs your help!
This incredible and resilient girl came to Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center early last week with an injured leg. At her visit with the orthopedic surgeon, we learned her injury was far more extensive than originally thought and would require immediate surgical intervention in order to save her leg. The procedure was long but went well, and Penny is expected to see a full recovery after a period of rest and rehabilitation. If you met her you'd never know she has been through so much despite her young age - she solicits love and attention from humans and doesn't hesitate to love her people right back.
Penny will not be available for adoption until she has fully recovered from surgery, roughly 8-10 weeks, but she is asking all of her friends if they can spare a dollar for her this holiday season and sponsor her recovery. Every "Penny" counts!

It's not uncommon for the Center to take in these kinds of animals - sick, injured, pregnant, or otherwise deemed less than perfect - but we often find that it's these animals who make the most loving and forgiving pets, and their stories are the ones that bring our community closer together.Β
