Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center pet of the week: Minnie

Minnie needs a family!

Introducing... Minnie! We really, really love this girl. Minnie is about a year old and is the perfect medium-sized dog at just forty pounds. She's so sweet with her humans! She does the most fantastic little butt wiggle when she sees them and wants nothing more than to spend hours snuggled in her foster mom's lap (or her foster sister's - she absolutely adores the teenage children in the home).

This super smart girl is housetrained and learning her basic commands quickly. She's also doing a great job developing appropriate chewing habits - among her favorite things in the world are big ol' dog bones and stuffed peanut butter Kongs. Minnie's ideal home will welcome her as the only dog. She is an absolute doll with her people and prefers that all their attention be focused on her.

For more information about Minnie and the other animals at Milwaukee Animal Rescue Center, visit the website at milwaukeearc.org and click on 'adopt' to download the adoption application. If you are interested in meeting this fun gal, return your application to the Center during open hours or by fax, 414-421-8801, to set up a meeting with the foster parent. All adoptable dogs are housed in volunteer foster homes and available for meetings by appointment only. Most adoptable cats are housed at the Center and available to meet during open hours.

*or by appointment.

Those interested in potential adoption should plan to arrive at the Center at least 30 minutes prior to close so the adoption counselor has adequate time to devote to the visit.

The generosity of our foster families allow us to save precious lives like Abbey's and give second chances to animals who need it. If you're interested in learning more about what it takes to become a foster home, contact info@milwaukeearc.org to sign up for the next foster information meeting. Fostering homeless animals is a big but lifesaving commitment, and our foster parents often tell us they feel like the lucky ones when they share their hearts and homes with these kids.

UPDATE: Francis, last week's pet of the week, has been adopted! Congrats, Francis, enjoy your new life buddy!
