Second Hand Purrs Cat Shelter Receives Donation From Fava Tea's CommuniTea Program
Fava Tea Company raised nearly $500 and various supplies through Fava Tea's CommuniTEA™ program in July for Second Hand Purrs Cat Shelter.
, Wisconsin’s top ranked independent loose tea retailer, has raised nearly five hundred dollars and various supplies through Fava Tea’s CommuniTEA™ program in July for Second Hand Purrs. For the entire month of July, $2.50 from every ounce of Cat’s Meow Blend Black Tea sold went to support the Second Hand Purrs to advance their work in the greater Milwaukee area.
“It’s a natural fit and we are really excited about supporting such a great local cause especially being a locally based retailer”, says Mellisa Stafford; co-owner of Fava Tea Company, “Our 7 year old son came up with the ‘Fava Tea’ name from our two dogs, a Goldendoodle named Moxie (Fava) and a Pekinese Poodle named Tigger (Tea); so benefiting a program for household family pets just seems to be fitting”.

Second Hand Purrs is a non-profit cat shelter located in the Milwaukee area and run solely by devoted volunteers. It has over 24 years of combined volunteering experience with other no-kill organizations in the Milwaukee area. It feels there is an additional need for more no-kill shelters for cats. The goal is to give current owners and/or concerned citizens another option to help combat the euthanasia statistics currently in Milwaukee.
“We at Fava Tea Company have a commitment to the community that we are a part of”, says Bryan Stafford; co-owner of Fava Tea Company, “ most of all, we would like to personally thank everyone who purchased Cat’s Meow blend during July. This donation is not possible without all of their support.”
