Spring Weather Marks Return of Cruising Scene
As the weather gets nicer, all the car enthusiasts get ready to go cruising.

The local cruising scene has started up due to the nice spring weather, and fellow residents are gearing up for some laps on Highway 100. Many of these residents are from Hales Corners, Greenfield, West Allis, and a few others.
To many, cruising is just driving on Highway 100 down and back and loitering. It is looked down upon and there is a law that tries to prevent it from happening. But cruising is more than just driving in a bunch of traffic. It has fun times, friendships, and the love of cars.
“I love cruising with my friends,” senior Peter Scheibe said. “I always have fun and I have good memories of the times I had.”

Of course to have great times, the weather needs to be nice. Luckily these next few days are getting warmer, and it looks like it will stay that way for the upcoming weeks. That’s good news for this car loving scene. As it warms up, the more people it’ll attract.
“I only like going cruising when it is warm out,” West Allis cruiser Jeremy Herbert said. “It just makes it better because then you can stand outside more when you’re parked and you can have the windows down when you drive.”

The sight of freshly washed cars, the smell of the burnt rubber, and the occasional sound of police sirens are all come with cruising. It has been that way for a long time, and it is here to stay.
