Whitnall High School Plans For New Golf Season

Whitnall is hosting tryouts for the spring golf season later this month.

Spring is here, and Whitnall High School golfers are trying to gain a spot on the golf team for the upcoming 2013 golf season.

Tryouts for the new season will be held March 25 after school at the Moorland Driving Range.

“If it’s not snowing and it is above freezing we will most likely to have tryouts," coach Mr. Baumann said. "They are just at the driving range, and it’s not terribly inconvenient to have tryouts in this weather.”

All students are welcome to come tryout. Baumann added, “For jayvee we keep 10 golfers. I would like to have 20 (at) tryouts.”

Jayvee and Varsity have 25 meets at various locations. Students will be scored not only individually but also as a team. Whitnall will play against other schools from the Woodland Conference.

This year, Whitnall has a new home golf course where they will host meets and also practice. The new course, Morningstar, is located on Prairieside Dr., in Waukesha.

Good luck to all the Whitnall golf participants this season!
