The victim explained that when she began exiting her car, the door was pulled open by a black male suspect. The suspect reportedly did not say anything to the victim and immediately began striking her in the face while wearing brass knuckles.

The suspect also attempted to pull the victim from her car by her leg. As she was being struck, she was able to retrieve pepper spray that she carried, and sprayed the suspect, causing him to flee in his vehicle, which was described as a dark-colored sedan.

While the victim was being assaulted, a female suspect was reportedly trying to open the passenger door and was yelling that the male suspect should grab the purse.

According to police, during the course of their investigation, detectives learned of a retail theft that occurred in Greendale just before the reported carjacking. The description of the woman closely matched the identity of the carjacking suspect, which eventually led to her arrest.
