China Lights Set For 2022 Return At Boerner Botanical Garden
The display of lanterns and culture is set to make a return in 2022 after two seasons delayed by the pandemic and staffing shortages.
HALES CORNERS, WI — China Lights, an expansive display of lanterns and culture, is expected to make a return at Boerner Botanical Gardens in 2022, the garden's website says.
The festival, which has been put on since 2016, was delayed in 2020 and again in 2021, but according to the garden's website the displays are set to make a return in 2022 with more details to be announced in July.
Last year's festival, which was supposed to run in the fall, was postponed because of staffing shortages, Boerner had said in a news release. The biggest of the lanterns require steel framing, cranes, colorful silk and handpainted displays produced by a highly skilled team.
